F.A.Q

Q: What are your hours? Do you have weekend or evening appointments?

A: Our office is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM - Monday through Friday - evenings and weekends by appointment only. Appointments during regular business hours are preferred, however, if you plan on stopping in, please call ahead to be sure that our staff will be available to assist you.

Q: Is there a charge to meet with the attorney?

A: Yes. New contacts are charged for an initial consultation - a $50.00 fee. This will allow you to speak to the attorney about your matter for up to 30 minutes. During the consultation, the attorney will discuss with the client their problem, what their options are, and suggest, if possible, a proper course of action. Initial consultation fees are payable the day of your consultation.

Q: What should I bring to my meeting with the attorney?

A: We ask that you bring all relevant documents to your meeting so that the attorney can make copies, if needed. If you are not sure what is relevant and what is not, feel free to call and ask. Our staff can give you a general idea of w hat you should bring, depending upon the type of case matter.

Q: Do I need an appointment to speak with an attorney?

A: To meet with the attorney in person, you need to make an appointment. If you “stop in” to see without an appointment, there is no guarantee that the attorney will be available to meet with you.

Q: Can the attorney answer my question or give me advice over the telephone?

A: Not for a new contact. While the attorney may be able to answer some general questions over the telephone, legal advice requires the establishment of an attorney/client relationship and that cannot be done over the telephone. Accordingly, the attorney must meet with a prospective client face to face and have them bring relevant documents to that meeting.

Q: Can you give me a quote for services? How much do you charge?

A: We charge by the type of matter (fixed or contingency) and/or by the hour, depending upon the time and labor required, the novelty and difficulty of the questions involved, the skill requisite to perform the legal service properly, the likelihood that acceptance of the particular employment will preclude the lawyer from acceptance of other clients matters, the fees customarily charged for similar legal services, the amount involved and the results obtained, the time limitations imposed by the prospective client, and the experience of the lawyer involved.

Some matters may require the payment of a retainer, or lump sum, up front. That will be determined by the attorney based upon the factors set forth above.
